Associate Professor (Family Nurse Practitioner) - Tenure-Track, School of Nursing POSITION: POSITION TITLE & DESCRIPTION: The School of Nursing invitesapplications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rankof Associate Professor. The person appointed to this position willteach in the Masters of Science in Nursing: Family NursePractitioner (FNP) concentration. Additional duties will include:overseeing the FNP practicum courses, managing the practicumtracking system, assisting with student and part-time facultyorientation and accreditation preparation activities. Otherresponsibilities include assisting with the student admissionprocess, recruitment of preceptors, and attendance offaculty/graduate/research/curriculum meetings. Effective teaching,research, creative activity, and service to the University arerequired for retention, promotion, and tenure. This is an academicyear appointment. However, opportunities exist for an additionalSummer Session appointment. Travel to conferences is supported bythe School of Nursing and College of Science scholarship/travelfunds. Graduate Student Assistantships and mini grants areavailable through the Center for Excellence in Graduate Education(CEGE) Center. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A Master's of Science in Nursing is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:A potential candidate's consideration will be enhanced by providingevidence of: A current and unobstructed California RN License and aCalifornia Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License, a currentnational Nurse Practitioner Certification, and the American HeartAssociation Basic Life Support Health Provider Certification. Aminimum of two years of instructional and simulation experience. Aminimum of two years of full-time practice as a nurse practitioner.Knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teachingmethodology, curriculum development, evaluations, or willingness toplan for acquisition of these skills not later than the first yearof teaching.
