Its estimated 2019 population of 73,631 made it the second-largest city in Stanislaus County after Modesto. - The Evergreen Packaging Turlock Carton Converting Facility is located in Turlock, California, within an hour of the California Napa wine country and in close proximity to the city of San Francisco . Responsibilities Purpose of the job: - - Develop people and systems related to product quality to insure product meets internal and external customer expectations. Meet specifications then through reductions of variance and continuous improvement of raw materials and internal process controls reduce downtime, waste and incremental cost to increase company ROI. Enhance product quality systems through feedback from external customers. TSR's and Quality Council. Provide key support in Product development and trials. Drive commitment to "doing it right the first time". - The Quality team leader plays a pivotal role in customer satisfaction and system improvement. Must be able to collect and analyze data. Must be able to develop and/or adapt quality systems to drive operational excellence in the process. Must communicate and successfully get buy-in across areas, plants and divisions to gain consensus on system change. The role provides key feedback from TSR's and customer's to identify changing focus in their business and provide appropriate system controls. The role requires the ability to formulate and implement protocols and coordinate trials for new improved raw materials, regulatory compliance as well as new product implementation trial. They also must have specialized skill sets in order to run the high tech equipment of the Turlock Facility. - Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Enforce all location safety and health rules and regulations and environmental standards.
Provide leadership that supports the workplace culture improvement process throughout the hourly and salaried workforce and coordinate changes in methods and procedures to improve profitability and operational performance. Work "on the process" as well as "in the process" to drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Waste, Throughput, Food Safety and Earnings.
Administration of the QMS, its requirements and documentation flow.
Administration of procedures and SOP's
Administration and Management of internal audits
Hourly/daily/weekly/monthly interface with department Managers, Supervisors, Hourly Team Members, internal and external business support people and Sales Team.
Manage customer complaints and required internal/external communications, documentation and complete reconciliation of issues.
Follow up and resolution of root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Incoming employee QMS high level training.
Quality training of inspectors and other Team Members.
Various meetings and organization of other activities that support the quality system on a regular basis.
Develop and implement systems and frameworks through which all Team Members work, make business decisions, and deliver business results.
Responsible for reporting food safety problems and implement corrective action as required
Develop and maintain customer relationships to ensure business goals are met.
Ensure effective implementation and on-going compliance with Evergreen Quality Management System (QMS)
Provide products and services that consistently meet the mutually agreed upon specifications of both our internal and external customers.
Involve team members in continuously improving the quality of our products and services, and the efficiency of operations and staff activities throughout the business.
Responsible for providing resources and tools necessary for the development and implementation of quality and food safety systems.
Provide leadership and direction for achieving quality improvement by interpreting policy, recommending strategies, organizing resources, and assisting leaders in the development and implementation of improvement plans.
Produce safe, quality products that comply with all applicable federal, state, and international laws, regulations, and guidelines. Compliance will be assured by internal and external, third party audits and product testing.
Back-up SQF Food Safety Practitioner. Ensure that all requirements of SQF System are being administered and adhered to.
Ensure that team completes all training requirements
Assist in annual verification of area SOP's
Participate in the yearly HAACP review
Participate in quarterly food safety internal audits.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications:

Education, Skills and/or Experience Required:
4 year degree in Engineering Paper Science or related field and/or equivalent experience. Technical Undergraduate Degree and MBA preferred.
Organizational design, LEAN and Business planning skills
Computer literate in company systems
Problem solving skills
Ability to motivate, train and delegate responsibility
Initiate and manage change
Competent in product legality, safety and quality
A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
Supervisory skills.
Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
Strong team player.
Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of product.
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Computer literate.
Knowledge of Food Safety Requirements
Ability to interpret and administer SQF System
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, squat 8 to 10 hours a day
Must be able to wear all necessary safety equipment
Must be willing to work on manufacturing production floor
Turning while carrying 25 lbs.
Standard office duties apply
Lifting a 40 lbs. load from floor level
Tearing carton tests - involves flexion of wrists
