Together, we strive to feed human progress.Job Posting Title:CookerJob Description:This role is at a Dairy Foods manufacturing facility for Land O'Lakes, creating dairy products that stand for real, simple goodness. We believe there's power in every drop of milk our farmers produce, and by improving production and finding innovative uses for that milk, we add a little good to people's lives.The Kitchen Cook will report to the Kitchen Lead for FMLA Work Order sequence and Schedule for the shift. The Kitchen Cooks will work closely with the Batch Weigher's to ensure all required Kettles have the correct milk or water prior to adding ingredients. The Kitchen Cooks will communicate with the Kitchen Lead to see if any changes have been made, prior to setting up next Kettle Rotation. The Cooks will assist the Batch Weigher's in adding the ingredients to the Kettles. They are also required to follow all Quality, GMP, Safety, Production, Training and Housekeeping requirements. They will follow all verbal and or written instructions of the, Kitchen Lead, Quality Control and Operations Management Team.HOURS:11:30am to 8:00pm or end of productionHOURLY PAY RATE:$16.25EDUCATION:High School Diploma or GED requiredREQUIRED EXPERIENCE:6 plus months of solid work experience in any industryBasic computer skillsAbility to follow manufacturer's specifications and directionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:18 years or olderAble to trouble shoot mechanical problemsAble to work in a fast-paced environmentWork in cold and/or hot temperatures throughout the dayAdhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs)Ability to demonstrate knowledge in their functions and ability to troubleshoot and fix system issues is preferredSelf-reliant and able to accurately work under limited supervision Ensures a safe working environment while performing assigned tasksCustomer focused and able to work in a collaborative team Ability to be flexible in work performed and scheduleAbility to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and possess basic mathematical skillsAbility to lift/carry up to 55 lbs.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Previous sanitation or chemical handling experienceExperience communicating work order progress to supervisor and production operatorsKnowledge of various pieces of high tech food manufacturing processing and packaging equipment. Examples include but are not limited to baggers, palletizers, and cookers.Essential Functions: ? Comply with Required GMP, hair covering and hearing protection policies.? Report to Kitchen Kettle area on time at start up, and after breaks and lunches? Kitchen Cooks will review the FMLA Work Order with the Batch Weigher's prior batch weighing to ensure Production Schedule has not changed.? Cooks will issue FMLA to the Production Work Order daily using the JD Edwards software system.? Cooks will review and follow the Process Spec Report Steps for each product Cooked. To include the setting of agitator speed and scraper speed if applicable, as well as Cook Temperature as shown in Step 13.? The Kitchen Cooks will maintain direct verbal communication with the Kitchen Lead at all times.? Cooks must be proficient in operation of the RSVIEW system to control the Kettles and its functions.? Prior to start up Kitchen Cooks must input set points for Cook Temperature, Cooling temperature, Milk, Water set points for each Kettle.? Communicate to QA when Kettles need to be released. Notify the Filler Operator when Kettle is ready to be sent to the Fillers.? Make sure all Charts in placed in the Kettle Recorders prior to start up. Sign off after each cook cycle of the Kettle, and Product type.? Must maintain the Cooking Process Report" filled out during each Kettle that is being cooked. Initial off after it is completed.? Review the "Cooking Process Report" with Kitchen Lead or Supervisor and have them sign off after it is reviewed. HACCP Reviewer will sign off after Charts are verified.? Report all Non-Conforming discrepancies to Kitchen Lead, QC and Management immediately.? Report all safety and GMP violations to Lead or Supervisor in a timely manner.? Notify Kitchen Lead and Maintenance of any Kettle issues.? Must have the ability to read and understand EnglishKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Traits: Decision-making: The work instructions are very specific, must be able to follow Spec Process Report Steps. Work with Lead on the Daily Schedule sequence.Supervisory Responsibilities: N/AEquipment Used: Hand Carts, containers, Kettles, Breddo's.Physical Demands: ? Will need to be able to work in a hot environment where temperatures can vary from 58 to 105 degrees.? Will need to be available to work Overtime, Weekends including Saturday and Sunday based on production needs.Standing Entire shiftPushing/Pulling FrequentlyLift Capacity: up to 45 lbs. OccasionallyNoise typical of a production environment Entire shift/Hearing Protection RequiredTime Demands: ? On occasion, business demands may require some employees to work overtime.? When overtime is required, employees are expected to work extra hours as required to meet business needs - this is a requirement of this position.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 55 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate. At times, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required. The ability to perform these requirements is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
