Job Description:

Manage the production material requirements, Operating Plans, daily ingredient requirements and manufacturing processes for cheese production. Ensure efficient operation of milk, cheese, and whey processing by establishing standard work and ensuring all employees are following standard work to produce high quality dairy food products. Directly involved with training supervisory staff and production employees on standard work and cheese making procedures. Monitor daily cheese plant activities including receiving, packaging, and production personnel Monitor cheese production including culture rotation, culture performance, vat recipes, cheese cooker performance, and product specification control Document standard work, job descriptions and procedure SOPs Help with minor troubleshooting production equipment if necessary
Supervise the job training program including training and retraining team members Work with regulatory personal and monitor all pasteurizer units Implement and maintain Quality Systems through standard work to ensure manufactured products meet all specificationMaintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issueDedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arriveFollow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirementsExhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgmentAdhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
